Bauke Gerbens appointed new CEO MultiBel
A new phase call for new leadership
MultiBel has appointed Bauke Gerbens the new CEO of MultiBel. Bauke brings 25 years of experience in the ICT infrastructure and Aerospace construction industries.
“Solely by launching fantastic products will not let us accomplish our ambitions. Scale-ups regularly fail because they cannot deliver on big promises. Bauke brings a wealth of experience and expertise that MultiBel particularly needs to realize our dreams”, says MultiBel’s owner Maurits Knopjes.
Bauke will work with the team to further develop the MultiBel Professional platform and the international expansion of the company. With a few weeks on the job, we asked him a few questions.
Why did you choose to take up this new challenge at MultiBel?
It wasn’t a decision I took overnight. The SaaS solutions that MultiBel currently delivers to more than a thousand Customers in the Benelux and D-A-CH region have truly impressed me. These Customers rely on our safety platform for the protection of their staff, customers and critical infrastructure. That trust does not come easy. It is a testimony of great things accomplished. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work with this team to enhance the development of the company.
What can we expect from MultiBel, next?
Our innovative strength has made us market leader in certain areas. In 2020 we were the first to deliver a certified Cloud solution for Wireless Silent Alarm System for the healthcare sector. With our lone worker solution we’ve delivered the first app that meets the strict Kiwa standards for mobile security of lone workers.
In a world that keeps raising the standards for critical notification, communication and worker protection we have a wonderful solution, but it will never be finished. We will keep innovating and we have very exciting solutions on our technology roadmap. Solutions that ultimately bring safety to workers and prevent damage to critical assets. That is what drives us.
What expertise do you bring along?
After my Master degree in Business Management, I worked in various commercial roles at Nortel Networks. It was the end of the nineties, and the technological advancements in networking were phenomenal. I then switched to GKN-Fokker, where I was most recently responsible for the global execution of projects and programs for certain U.S. defence OEM’s. My focus at MultiBel will be to establish solid processes, lead the teams, drive strategic decision making and ultimately to maintain MultiBel as a company that customers and employees are proud of, and love to work with.
And the 2 owners, will they stay involved?
I will of course take on certain tasks from Wouter and Maurits. This will enable Wouter to take on the CTO role and Maurits will put his focus on our strategic ambition to further expand internationally.
