What is a CERT alarm button?

A CERT alarm button is a fixed button used to notify the Company Emergency Response team.

When the CERT alarm button is pressed, a predefined scenario is activated in the MultiBel alarm platform. In this way, you benefit from all the advantages of MultiBel for CERT alarms, such as automatic presence detection, fast multi-channel alarms, real-time visibility of responses, and more.

For whom is the CERT button suitable?

The CERT button is ideal for organisations or environments where not everyone carries a mobile phone. The button makes it easy for anyone to raise an alarm, making it very useful in emergencies where every second counts. Many of our customers combine the CERT button with other options, such as triggering via a QR code, a dial-in number, the MultiBel app, personal alarms for lone workers or, for example, a fire alarm system.

Advantages

• Easy to use: easy and self-explanatory use, making it particularly useful in times of stress. The user can see and feel that the button has been activated.
• Can be used anywhere: Suitable for working environments where a phone is not always carried or available: production halls, laboratories, garages, swimming pools or warehouses.
• Instant location information:  The location of the CERT alarm button is sent to the recipients in the scenario. This way, the recipient immediately knows where to go.
• Reliability: The button is rugged and reliable.
• No Internet connection required

Disadvantages

• No additional information: When the CERT alarm button is pressed, an alarm is immediately triggered. Unlike triggering an alarm with the MultiBel app, a QR code or an activation number, it is not possible to add additional data. Think of information such as a cut in the kitchen, a heart attack or a major fire. This information ensures that emergency responders are informed of the severity and situation.
• False alarms: If the button is pressed (accidentally), it is impossible to cancel an alarm using the CERT alarm button.

Which CERT alarm button has MultiBel chosen?

For some time now, MultiBel has been connecting various fixed alarm buttons to its platform. Some customers choose a wired button, while others prefer a wireless alarm button.

For customers who do not yet have a suitable button, we have several user-friendly standard solutions. Many of these CERT alarm buttons are tested, integrated with our platform and easy to use. The cost of purchase is low and some buttons run on long life batteries. They are also easy to install and come with your chosen alarm scenario. This allows you to take full advantage of our MultiBel CERT alarm platform without your employees having to carry a mobile phone.
