An alarm with MultiBel can be initiated in several ways. One of our customers indicated the wish to do this by means of a QR-code. The customer wanted a simple way to alert the company emergency response team. It should be immediately recognizable where the QR-code exactly was scanned. And very important, everyone present had to be able to not only start an alarm but also to talk immediately with the Emergency Response officers.

Why use QR-code poster to alert?

The main reason for using the QR-code is to save time. Especially in case of emergency/stress, it is not surprising that when people have to manually dial a number, they make mistakes.
Using a dial-in number with a QR-code makes it easy to alert everyone. Visitors will also immediately understand what is expected of them.
The location is immediately clear based on the QR-code being used. There is no misunderstanding about the correct number / QR code; all the information is on the wall.

MultiBel Professional customers

For many of our MultiBel Professional customers, this method is readily available at no additional cost. This is because it is included in the “dial-in number” expansion module. We will gladly explain to you one-on-one how it works in your situation.

MultiBel Standard users

If you would like to use a dial-in number and the QR-code to start an alarm you will need MultiBel Professional. If you are using MultiBel Standard for free and would like more info on the features of MultiBel Professional and the associated costs please contact one of our Sales Consultants.

Communication after starting an alarm?

Many of our MultiBel Professional customers use our communication module in addition to a dial-in number. This makes it immediately start a conversation with the notified persons. This saves even more time in a critical situation.

Our customer who initially asked for the QR-code to start an emergency response team alert happened to already have all prerequisites in place. This customer was able to get everything to work immediately just with putting up the posters.
